I love to photograph unique and quirky weddings in beautiful locations. This wedding was just that. A DIY wedfest held on their friends smallholding in Manordeilo, Llandeilo in West Wales. A Marquee was set up in the grounds and beautifully decorated by Claire’s friend Julia ( JJ’s Harmony Event Hire) and family and friends who all pitched in.

Claire and Matthew were so chilled and relaxed it made my job photographing them so much easier. Who cared if it rains all day, just slap on the wellies and lets go for a walk. That’s exactly what this fab couple did. We took a moment when the rain eased and went for a walk around the grounds. This gave C & M a little time out and gave me chance to capture natural pictures of the both of them. My kinda of couple 🙂

When it comes to the speeches there’s the usual stories and thank you’s but sometimes there are some speeches that you remember and Claire’s dads speech was one of them. It was heartfelt and funny as he reminiced about Claire’s childhood and how proud Claire’s mum would have been if she could have been there (Sadly she passed away last year)  – There wasn’t a dry eye in the house.

As a photographer I get see, feel and capture all the emotions from a wedding day and I feel so honoured to be allowed to part of a close families inner circle to witness these moments. A wedding isn’t all about the pretty flowers and dresses. They are about the people and sharing your one moment, your one special day with the ones you love. C & M did just this, they allowed everyone to part of their day, not to look from the outside in but to enjoy and to be included in every moment, including the hypnotist which was hilarious. A wedding is a party and this was one party I will always remember. Here are some fab highlights from their wedding.
