Weddings should be all about celebrating your day with family and friends and not worrying if everything goes to plan or you both look good. This wedding was exactly that. I first met Kate via a video call which wasn’t the typical video meeting. Kate was calling me outside the pub whilst Mike was inside celebrating a football win. I knew from the start that this was the perfect couple for me to photograph, a couple who are down to earth, love a good drink and know how to party.
The wedding took place at The Gathering Barn, Warminster, Wiltshire. Its always great photographing a wedding at a venue I haven’t been to before as I can approach the day with fresh eyes and lots of creative ideas. The Gathering Barn is set in glorious rural isolation, on the rolling South Wiltshire Downs with 300 hectares (760 acres) and has a central private drive running right through it.
The Gathering Barn is all about giving you the time and space to create your own tailor made celebration. Individuality is positively encouraged and the stunning blank canvas allows imaginations to run wild and unique spaces to be created.
When you hold a wedding in December you know the one thing you can’t count on and that is the weather. As Mike plays football and Kate plays Hockey this was one thing that wasn’t going to stop them enjoying themselves. So the umbrellas were chucked away and they embraced the wind and rain for some natural photos around the farm.
No Farm wedding or any wedding isn’t complete without including your family pets and this time it was their black and golden Labradors who just had to come outside for a few pics.
Once we dried off it was time to party and with Thatchers cider on tap everybody let their hair down and danced the night away. I hope you enjoy amazing wedding highlights of Mike and Kates wedding at The Gathering Barn.
