WOW, WOW, WOW! We feel so lucky and honoured we had Steve to capture our special day. We honestly cant explain by a review how outstanding Steve is as a photographer, as a professional and now as a friend that understood our personalities and how we wanted our day to be photographed.
As we were at the end of the pandemic restrictions we were always on edge whether or not our day would even go ahead, regardless of that Steve was always there for support, was so flexible for date changes and meetings that it made our wedding experience so easy. Steve during our wedding day was like a secret spy and caught moments you’d think would be missed, what a guy!
Honestly if you are looking for a stress free, unique, professional photographer and a photographer that adapts to you as a couple Steve is your man, can not recommend him enough! We have had so many wonderful comments from friends, family and even strangers of the high quality that Steve provided. We are sad that it is all over.

When my husband and I talk about how perfect our wedding was, we always end up talking about Steve. He is so friendly and was extremely helpful on the day, managing to wrangle our guests into order and creating absolutely magical photos out of what could’ve been pure chaos. He made everybody feel at ease, and allayed any jitters or discomfort we had by the notion of posing or being photographed simply by being so approachable and kind. Our photos turned out so dreamy – hiring him really was one of the best choices we made around the wedding. We’re recommending him to everybody we know going forward x

What can i say, from first contacting Steve via email he was amazing, listened to everything me and my wife had to say , messaging up to the wedding and is still in contact after. He did everything to reassure us that our day would be amazing, and boy was it . He turned up on time with a huge smile and a professional but friendly attitude. From the second he started working he made everyone feel comfortable and relaxed. He was organised and so comforting , cracking jokes and making sure everything was perfect . Steve is an incredibly talented, passionate photographer which can be seen in all of his photos. He has a way of capturing those raw emotions and moments that are truly breath taking. He seems to be able to take photos of everything and everyone without ever being rushed or in the way. When it came to our couple photos, he made us feel calm and relaxed and made it a time where we could run away and just be ourselves. No staged photos! We could just be with each other, laughing and smiling on the happiest day of our lives. We have received so many glowing compliments about the photos, he’s made it so difficult to choose which ones to put on the wall!

I can’t find enough good things to say about Steven. Our wedding photos were everything we wanted and more. Not only did Steven take amazing photos, he was such a delight to have throughout our big day. We had a very low key and laid back wedding and it was so helpful to have Steven there to help organize and navigate the day and keep us on schedule! From the beginning, he was easily able to understand the type of vibe we were going for, and he helped make that happen. He did such an amazing job at capturing such nice candid shots of the entire day, and also putting our family groups together for some more formal shots. Seriously such a great photographer!

Thank you for being our wedding photographer! We are overwhelmed by the quality of the photos you’ve taken and the speed with which you got them finalised. You managed to capture so many wonderful moments throughout the day.
The couple portraits came out beautifully composed with you really bringing out the autumnal colours all around us and our love for each other. Beyond those shots, the photos of our guests really stand out and highlight the beautiful people who shared our day with us with some of their serious and silly moments. You certainly earned your title as a ninja since we (and our guests) often had no idea you were there freezing moments in time forever.
We must say that having the pre-wedding photo shoot was invaluable to us. It got us used to being in front of the camera and gave us a chance to get to know you – which was a delight in itself. This meant that, on the day, we felt like we were welcoming another friend to our wedding.

Steve is an absolute genius. If we could do it all over again, and only hire one person/vendor for our day, it would be Steve 1000 times over. He is worth his weight in gold. Comments from people who’ve seen the photos are continually – “These are the best and most unique wedding photos I’ve ever seen in my life.” Not even joking! But besides now having the most epic wedding photos in the world, Steve is an amazing person.
He made us feel completely at ease, and also took on the role of coordinator during the wedding day when our planner at the venue went AWOL!! He helped with EVERYTHING all day long, with stuff completely out of his job description, while still managing to capture EVERY tiny little beautiful moment of the day. On top of this, guests have remarked they did not even notice him – he was like an invisible ninja all day – capturing moments without getting in the way of anything.
Honestly I wish we could afford to hire Steve full time to capture all of our moments in life – he is just an absolute master and deserves to rise to fame in this industry. We love you, Steve!! Thank you for immortalizing the best day of our lives in such an incredible, beautiful way. We will never be able to thank you enough!

From our first meeting with Steve we knew that he was the photographer for us. From browsing through his vast portfolio, to chatting with him about his unique style of capturing the day, it all seemed exactly what we wanted, and on top of this he is a really nice guy.
Nothing was too much bother for Steve. He met us at the venue a few weeks before the big day, so we could discuss ideas. He is brimming with unique photo opportunities that your average photographer wouldn’t even dream of, but also listened to what we wanted and took on board some of our crazy ideas too.
He worked tirelessly throughout the whole day and was their until late into the night, capturing the party atmosphere perfectly. Looking back through the photos,
I don’t think there is a moment that he missed, and our whole day has been captured perfectly. The presentation of the photo album is second to none, and an excellent touch. We could not recommend Art by design highly enough. Me and my husband loved Steve’s pictures online when we was researching photographers.
His natural style was perfect for us, were not the type to pose and liked the idea of capturing natural moments throughout the day.
We initially had an engagement shoot which was perfect to get used to being photographed and to get to know Steve. The pictures were amazing! On the day Steve arrived, told us to forget he was there and He carried on.
Steve captured all the moments we wanted. Lots of family members asked Steve for additional pictures and nothing was too much! Lots of our friends and family commented on how good Steve was on the day and are thinking about booking him for their wedding.

We genuinely can’t recommend Steve highly enough. If you want a stress free fun day that flows with virtually no interruptions, and what minimal “allocated” photo time there was,was made fun and relaxed …easy…totally enjoyable then Steve is the photographer for you .The reality is you won’t even know he’s there capturing those priceless special moments.
His powers of observation and skilled eye for detail means he catches with his lense not JUST a photo but a split second in time which will bring flooding back all the fantastic atmosphere and emotions of that moment ….but not just for a one off …every photo has been captured as he’s blended in with your guests and observed your special day unfold preserving the finer details, the glances, smiles, tears, belly laughs touching of a face, embraces …..just all the tiny jigsaw pieces that make up your totally unique Day / night.
When I first met Steve he said he strives to ” tell the story of your Day ” ….if I’m totally honest I didn’t fully “get it” but I instantly liked his enthusiasm. Then we saw our wedding photos and NOW I totally 100% “get it ” ….Steve told our story ! And what I think is testament to his talent is if you look through his wedding story each is completely unique and individual …Not a one size fits all ….Steve is a skilled taylor of a photographer. From the slightly tipsy initial phone call, to the downright messy end of the wedding night, Steve was a star the whole way through. Managing to cope with torrential weather, dogs, and a whole lot of wedding guests with a lot of cider in them, he took everything in his stride.
The photos don’t even vaguely suggest the horrendous weather we had, they just glow and look amazing. Our specific request for lots of in focus reception shots as well was managed amazingly, something a lot of other photographers we looked at didn’t have, honestly we love so many of them!
Everyone at the wedding has marveled at the photos I’ve shared with them, as they’ve just said…I didn’t even realise he was there taking that picture! A real star and a lovely guy to work with! Thanks so much Steve!

Beautiful, thoughtful, magical photos that are the perfect memento of a wonderful day.
I found Steve ( Art by Design) at a wedding fair and was blown away by his big, panoramic wedding photography. We hired him for our wedding after our first meeting, where he really impressed us with his professionalism and creative thinking.
Having a winter wedding, well any wedding in the UK, the weather is always a worry, but Steve was so relaxed about it all, he instilled us with a sense of confidence that it would all be ok on the day itself.
Before the day he sent a very comprehensive questionnaire that actually helped me plan the day itself.
On the day, he couldn’t have been more helpful or accommodating and as you will read from other reviews, at times he took charge but most of the time he was invisible, taking beautiful, candid shots of us and our friends and family that I will treasure for a lifetime.
I was terribly worried and self conscious beforehand but he put me at ease and that is priceless.
In short, Steve was worth every penny we spent and more, as we now have hundreds of perfect, beautiful memories of our wonderful day that we can share with our friends and family.

My husband and I had Art by Design carry out our wedding photography earlier this year. From the first meeting with Steve we instantly felt at ease and looking through his work certainly impressed us. Steve was fantastic from start to finish. Pre-wedding he was very open and helpful having worked at our chosen venue on numerous occasions, and it made a real difference on the day. He came to the house on the morning and got some great shots, and the ceremony and post-ceremony photos were absolutely fantastic.
He stayed late into the evening and the range of photos he got from staged, to reportage, outdoors, indoors, speeches and evening entertainment were all great. We had a hard time whittling down our favourite shots!
Highly recommended, and a really nice guy as well, which makes having him there on your big day a pleasure.
