Sophie and Jonny got married on June 6th at St Cadoc’s Church and held their reception at The Old Post House in St Fagan’s South Wales. I try to limit the amount of photos I show in a wedding post as I can get carried away and want to show all of them. Sorry to say I lost a little bit of control with this one as there are so many images I like that tell the story of S & J’s day. Anyway here is a little blurb about their day but I will let their pictures speak for themselves.
The weather outlook for the day was gale force winds and rain, not a great start but hey you gotta roll with it when you live in Wales. I drove down the M4 to Barry to cover the final bridal preparations and then headed off to St Cadoc’s church in Llancarfen. I love a vintage wedding in South Wales. Jonny and the groomsmen looked smart in their tweed waistcoat and trousers whilst Sophie looked beautiful in her simple and elegant vintage wedding dress and arrived in style in a vintage wedding car.
Once the ceremony was over and family photos were taken outside the church we went to The Old Post House in St Fagan’s for the reception. The Old Post House is a family owned and run business, in St Fagans village in South Wales. The building is a mix of traditional (dating back from being the original village Post Office & Police Station) and the more modern Scandinavian influence which has transformed the building over the last 20 years. The conservatory was beautifully decorated and the guests sat down for a lovely meal.
After the meal we braved the winds and went for a walk around the village for beautiful portraits before heading back to the venue for the party. This vintage wedding was perfect and it was an honour to be part of Sophie and Jonny’s day. If you like what you see please take a look at some my other great south wales weddings and get in touch if you want a Cardiff wedding photographer for your day.
