Lauren + Paul | Gower wedding photographer | Ocean View
Another great Gower wedding, this time it was Lauren and Paul who got married on 28th May 2016 at Llandybie Church in Llandybie and held their wedding reception at Ocean View Windmill in the Gower. Bridal preps were at Lauren’s parents home. The usual make-up to put on, getting the kids dressed and eventually the bride and bridesmaids getting dressed. As a wedding photographer its always nice to be welcomed into a families home with people you have never met. Instantly you are greeted with a smile and offered a cuppa. I do love this part of the day as nothing is orchestrated. I get to photograph those madcap and personal moments that happen on a morning of a wedding.
Once Lauren got dressed I headed off to church to capture photographs of Paul and his Groomsmen and the family friends arriving for the big day. When I turned up at the church I was disappointed. There was a friend of family playing the bagpipes and the Groom and all the groomsmen were in Kilts – Welsh and Scottish kilts. After a couple of natural photos in the church grounds Paul headed off into the church to wait for Lauren. Lauren arrived in style in a beautiful vintage wedding car and the bridesmaids and mum in a vintage dress. Lauren, her dad, the bridesmaids and flower girl walked up the aisle with big grins on their faces. After a lovely ceremony Lauren and Paul chatted with their friends and family before heading off the Ocean View in the Gower . This wedding venue is set an area of outstanding natural beauty, a setting fit for the most luxurious of celebrations, overlooking the fabulous Gower Coast and a 13th Century ancient castle.
The Reception
We stopped off at Woebley Castle for some portraits and pictures of the bridal party and then popped across the road to the reception. Any wedding venue in the Gower is blessed with stunning views and places to capture beautiful wedding portraits. After the food has been eaten and the speeches are over I like to take the couple for a time out – some time where the couple can walk and chat and say hello to each other whilst I capture some natural intimate portraits. We took a walk through lanes and took full advantage of the setting sun to capture some wonderful wedding pictures before heading back to venue for first dance. As a South Wales wedding photographer I get to shoot at some fantastic location along the Welsh Coast and if your looking for a wedding venue with stunning views then look no further than Ocean View Windmill.
