Dawn & Phil | Nash Point LightHouse Wedding
It is always a pleasure to cover a wedding at Nash Point Lighthouse on this occasion I was able capture one of my favourite photos of the year. Phil is a keen kite surfer and lives in Wiltshire but their are not many coastlines there. So he travels down to the welsh coast most weekends with Dawn in his VW to some of the best beaches Wales has to offer. This one of the reasons they fell in love with Nash Point Lighthouse.
Phil regularly surfs off Monknash so where better to get married than at the lighthouse. This chilled out couple go married on 10th June 2016. They stayed with their family friends in the cottages attached to the lighthouse so on the morning of the wedding I arrived to capture the start of their beautiful story.
Phil looked smart and relaxed in his vintage waistcoat but it was a bit scary that I was wearing very similar clothes, it looked like we had coordinated our wardrobe for the day. Dawn looked stunning in here mid length blue dress – a perfect dress for a perfect location. The ceremony was held in the lighthouse in front of a small group of family and friends and then we headed off down the beach for some couple portraits.
I always come up with suggestions for shots and sometimes the couples are up for doing it and other times not. I was very lucky on this occasion that Dawn and Phil were willing to climb the cliff at Monknash beach for my favourite photo of the day. A lovely dramatic portrait of them on top of the cliff overlooking the coastline – this was well worth effort.
We had a couple off more portraits on the beach and then headed back to the lighthouse to have some photos around the lighthouse before heading into the marquee for their wedding breakfast. As usual all weddings at Nash Point Lighthouse are chilled and relaxed – not your usual wedding venue but one that allows you to have unique wedding photos in a beautiful location.
