The one thing about weddings I have always liked is meeting new people and visiting new places. Everyone hates having their photo taken, especially when you are trying to get ready for the most important day of your life. So when I turn up in the morning, I keep my camera in my bag, have a cup of tea, a chat and get to know everybody before I start taking any photos.
This was no different on the morning of Alaw & Jame’s wedding. After an early start and a long drive up to Aberystwyth, I was welcomed by Karen, Alaw’s Mum, with a friendly smile and a cup of tea. The perfect start for a perfect day. Once I photographed all the girls getting ready we headed off to Llanfihangel-y-Creuddyn Church for the ceremony.
After the ceremony, we took a short drive to the local woods where Alaw spent her days as a child playing for some beautiful portraits and then onto Nanteos Mansion for the reception. Nanteos is is a Luxury Country House Hotel situated just outside Aberystwyth set in 30 acres of wooded parkland. Alaw & James had a fab day and I was made to feel like one of the family. I hope to be back soon for more weddings at Nanteos Mansion but for the time being please enjoy the story of their day below.
