So I posted a photo the other day highlighting the fact that on a wedding day it’s not always about capturing the epic shot of the bride and groom. It’s about natural wedding photography. Capturing unposed moments as they happen. When a couple get married they choose to share that day with their closest family and friends. People travel from all around the world there to be with them and join in the celebrations. A wedding day is jam packed with getting married, chatting to the guests, having your meal, first dance and partying into the night. You wake up the next day and and think it’s all a dream and then you wipe the sleep from your eye’s and look at the man/woman lying next to you and realise you have just married the love of your life.
You try to remember the day but it’s all a blur. The only things to remind of you of your day are going to be your wedding photographs or video. You will remember the moment when I stood you in a field at sunset to capture that epic dramatic picture but you won’t remember the time the tear’s ran down your fathers cheek as he walked you down the aisle. The moment your mother, father, friend danced and partied so hard like they were twenty again. The moment your best man smashed a glass when toasting the bride and groom. The moment you shared with your wedding party when your photographer asked you to ‘just to strike a pose’ and many more.
Moments like these are the one’s you don’t see or remember. As a wedding photographer it is my job to tell the story of your day and to be there when these moments happen. To give you pictures that will be with your forever, pictures that you can show your grandchildren and pictures that will bring a smile or a tear to your eye. Because if I can do one thing and one thing only, it will be to make you happy. Yes you will have your epic photograph of the two of you but you will also have hundreds of photos telling the story of your day, showing how all your family and friends were there with there with you on that day, sharing in the moments and creating the moments.
