Hensol Castle Wedding Photography | Jamie & Tia

Jamie & Tia’s wedding story. They got married at St Cynwyd’s Church in Llan, Maesteg and held their reception at Hensol Castle which is situated just 11 miles from Cardiff. Jamie wanted to surprise Tia with a red mini that she has always wanted. He planned to surprise her after the ceremony, outside the church and whisk her away to Hensol Castle. Now like every wedding, nothing ever goes to plan (ok maybe sometimes it does). The car broke down so in the end all he could do was take Tia to the car park and present the little mini in all its glory.

Now by the look on Tia’s face, it didn’t matter if the car started or not. She was over the moon and it shows you can never plan for every eventuality on your wedding day. After the ceremony, they headed off to Hensol Castle for their reception. Hensol Castle is a gorgeous Grade I listed building bursting with character with towering turrets, sweeping staircases, and gothic towers nestled in luscious, landscaped grounds steeped in history.

Tia looked stunning in her dress that she created herself and even made the bridesmaids’ dresses whilst Rachel Starr (Hair) and Joanna Yates (Makeup) finished off her look to turn her into the perfect bride. Entertainment was provided by Gwynne’s Ice Cream, James Hawker Magic and Hipsterband who kept the guests partying all night. Flowers were by Alison Bentley flowers.
