S & G got married on 2nd September 2016. The day started off at Sharleen’s parents house where the everybody was getting ready. Once I had captured photographs of all the wedding details and bridal preps I headed off to Holy Trinity Church in Cwmbran to meet Geraint and the rest of of the wedding party. The weather stayed dry and Sharleen arrived in style in a vintage wedding car ready to become Mrs Pollard. The weather was unpredictable so as it was dry after the service I captured the family photos and lucky I did because as soon as I took the last picture it started to rain.
All the wedding party and the bride and groom drove to Cwrt Bleddyn Hotel for the reception. Built as a private manor house in 1610, this historic hotel is located in the Vale of Usk, Monmouthshire. Usk is a small town in the south-east of Wales, situated 10 miles northeast of Newport. The grounds provide the wedding photographer with plenty of opportunities to capture some natural wedding photographs.
Cwrt Bleddyn Hotel
Before the meal I went with S & G to have some timeout away from the wedding party. This time is for the bride and groom to spend some time with each other and let moment sink in. Whist they were taking a walk around the grounds I was able to capture some lovely natural portraits. We all then went in for the meal and the speeches.
After the wedding meal it is always a nice time to capture some fun photographs with the wedding party. They have been fed and drank a few beers so everyone is a lot more chilled in front of the camera. The best photographs are the ones where no is looking at the photographer. You are able to capture the natural laughter and shannigans. As the evening guests started to arrive it was time for the evening party to start. The DJ was set up and ready to go and the music started playing. Sharleen’s mum who was just recovering from a stroke was the first one on the dance floor and you couldn’t stop her, it was lovely to be there to capture that perfect mother and daughter moment.
When it comes to the dancing in the evening you never know what is going to happen. It can either be very subdued or the party animals hit the dance floor and you get see some crazy dance moves. This wedding was the party animal type where the bride and groom all went for it on the dance floor and some moves being shown off.
