“Steve was fantastic from start to finish. Pre-weddin g he was very open and helpful having worked at our chosen venue on numerous occasions, and it made a real difference on the day. He came to the house on the morning and got some great shots, and the ceremony and post-cerem ony photos were absolutely fantastic.
He stayed late into the evening and the range of photos he got from staged, to reportage, outdoors, indoors, speeches and evening entertainm ent were all great. We had a hard time whittling down our favourite shots!
Highly recommende d, and a really nice guy as well, which makes having him there on your big day a pleasure.“
In April 2016, I had the pleasure of covering Chris & Emily’s wedding at the Coed-y-Mwstwr Hotel in Bridgend, South Wales. The Coed-y-Mwstwr is a privately-owned 4 star Victorian country house hotel perched on a Welsh hill in beautiful woodlands on the outskirts of Bridgend.
The day started off with bridal prep coverage and at their family home in Cardiff. Everyone was very chilled and the champagne was on ice and one of Emily’s favourite films on the tv (Greece). I love the shot of the dress hanging above the fireplace whilst the girl on the tv is looking up at it :-). After the bridal preps I drove to the hotel. Chris was there with his groomsmen looking very dapper and calm. Emily later arrived with her bridesmaids in style in a stretched Limo.
Chris waited nervously in the function room and was able to give his sister who was a bridesmaid a quick wave as she walked down the aisle followed shortly by Emily and her proud father. After the ceremony the happy couple mingled with guests outside and had drinks and canapes. It was then time to whisk the couple away for some portraits around the grounds of the hotel. There are lot of opportunities around the grounds for natural wedding portraits from the wide sweeping driveway to the lush daffodil gardens and woods.
Once the food was eaten and speeches completed it was time for the partying in the night. It is always a great please to back shooting a wedding at the Coed-y-Mwstwr hotel as it only 5 mins away from where I live so it’s a nice change to cover a local wedding. If you are getting married and are looking for a Coed-y-mwstwr wedding photographer and love the photos you see here then please get in touch.
