Sophie & Matthew were married on Saturday 29th June at the beautiful South Wales venue, Caer Llan. Which is set in the heart of Monmouthshire and the Wye Valley. Hidden away on a secluded hillside in 25 acres of garden, field and woodland, this beautiful old family home enjoys absolutely incredible views over the Vale of Usk towards the distant Welsh mountains.
Summer had eventually arrived and it was one of the hottest days of the year – a scorching 28 degrees. Matthew and the boys made the most of it by starting the day off messing around in the pool whilst Sophie got ready in the bridal suite with her bridesmaids. With the weather this good the ceremony was held outdoors for one of the first times in 2019 under the gorgeous wedding gazebo.
Sophie walked down the aisle with her proud dad beside her and looked stunning in her wedding dress from Perfection Bridal in Cardiff accompanied by gorgeous wedding flowers from Juliet Moore Flowers. After the ceremony the drinks reception was held on the terrace and the guests enjoyed garden games.
As a Caer Llan wedding photographer I am spoilt for choice with the locations to choose from for the perfect wedding photos. Sophie and Math made the most of their ‘time out’ away from their guests and went for a walk around the fabulous grounds and even went for paddle in the pool. After they had cooled down it was time for the first dance and wedding party. Sophie’s Dad became an extra member of the wedding band Astella and got the party started by playing a bit of Madness on his saxophone.
