2020 hasn’t been the best year for a lot of people around the world. Weddings, events, social meets ups, have all been cancelled or put on hold. Most of my couples weddings have been postponed until 2021 but I was lucky enough to actually photograph 6 weddings in 2020. Everyone of those weddings was extra special due to the circumstances. With limited numbers meaning lots of family and friends couldn’t attend meant extra stress was put on couples but this didn’t stop them getting married.
They followed all the guidelines, wore their masks, social distanced and still had an amazing day. Some weddings had 30 guests, some had 15 or less but it didn’t matter how many were there it more important that the right people were there. Every one of my couples embraced the day, got married and I was able to capture the memories that they look back on for years to come.
This resilience from my couples shows that you can still have a wedding, you just got to get a bit more creative with your plans for your day. In the end a wedding day is your day and not about pleasing the relatives that you haven’t seen for 20 years. Yes you may need to reduce numbers but you can still have an amazing time as shown in the photos below. I am going into 2021 with optimism that things will get better. Life throws curve balls at us all the time but we just have to grab those balls and throw them back and adjust our plans, in the end love conquers all.
