An intimate wedding by the sea
Jamie & David didn’t want the fuss of a large wedding, all they knew was that they just wanted to get married. David grew up in England and Jamie in the USA but they both have Welsh ancestors so they felt they had a connection to Wales. They always felt the happiest at the sea and wanted their wedding to feel like a vacation more than a traditional wedding day.
The ceremony was held at Slebech Park Estate in their church ruins. It was so unique to anything else that they found during their venue search. It felt very private and cosy – which was exactly what they wanted! Talking with Jamie before the wedding, she mentioned that she would love some clifftop shots. With that in mind, they jumped in my car and we headed off to Skrinkle Bay. Now, you can never rely on the weather in Wales and this time was no different. It was blowing up to 40mph winds on top of the cliff but this didn’t stop Jamie & David from popping the champagne. They embraced the moment which they will never forget.
After we jumped back in my car and headed off to Tenby for beautiful natural portraits on the beach. Jamie and David said their goodbyes and spent the rest of the day at Jamie’s parent’s rental home in Tenby called Ocean House. They finished off the evening with a family dinner prepared by a private chef from Fuchsia Caterers.
Remember, it’s your wedding day, do what you want. Try not to get swept up in what you think you need to do either to please your family or based on traditional ideals.
