Stockton House is an exclusive, boutique wedding venue nestled in 8,500 acres of Shropshire countryside on the Apley Estate. This was the location for Adam & Samatha’s summer wedding.
This was my first time at Stockton House and the venue didn’t disappoint. You are spoilt for choice in where to hold your ceremony. From their unique secret walled garden dining room, in front of the victorian turning house or any of the luxurious rooms on the ground floor – you are spoilt for choice!
Getting married is very personal for some couples and Sam and Adam decided they would like to do a first look. Where they get to see each other before the main ceremony and share that special moment together. They did this in the walled garden where the main ceremony was to take place. I must admit a few tears were shed and that wasn’t just by the couple.
Once they had this quiet moment together, the main ceremony was held in front of the Victorian turning house in the walled garden. I must admit, this was the first time I have see this where the couple enter the turning house, it is then turned 360 degrees and they exit as man and wife.
After the ceremony the guest chilled and mingled in front of the house before heading off into the dining room for their meal and speeches.
The highlight for me on the day was the incredible sunset that I witnessed and was able to photograph as the end of the day. This was one truly special wedding and I can’t thank the staff enough for looking after me on the day.
